  • Lets you connect your RV's tail, brake and turn signal lights to your towed vehicle's lighting system
    • Provides 4-way flat plug at front of towed car to connect to motor home
  • Wires in quickly and easily
    • Splices into vehicle's electrical system with included butt connectors
    • Color-coded wires with wiring guide for easier installation
  • Integrated block diodes isolate sensitive vehicle electronics from RV signals
  • Includes harness, 4-flat extension, mounting bracket, and hardware
  • 1-Year limited warranty

Wiring Your Vehicle

Typically, wiring your car for flat towing is a tremendous chore. You have to position and mount multiple diodes beneath your car and then splice into the car's wiring. Each wire - for running lights, brake lights, and both turn signal lights - must be connected to a diode. And don't forget to jump the diodes so that the running light signal is sent to both sides of your car.

Or you could just use this Curt wiring harness. This universal-designed system connects to your vehicle's existing wiring. Simply splice into your factory wiring and connect the labeled wires to your factory wiring with the included butt connectors.

Do You Need a Brake Light Relay?

Because your vehicle has a combined lighting system - wherein the brake signals and the turn signals are carried on a single wire - a brake light relay (RM-88400 - sold separately) may be required if you use a supplemental braking system with your towing setup. A supplemental braking system depresses the brake pedal in your towed car every time you apply the brakes in your RV. So, if your towed car's brake lights illuminate when the brake pedal is pressed and the engine is off - as is the case when towing - then you need to install a relay to ensure that the lights on your towed car always act in accordance with the signals sent by your RV via the wiring harness. Without a relay, the brake signal from your towed car will override the turn signal sent by your RV when you slow down to make turns, creating a potential hazard.

The labels for the Right Taillight Running Light splice were labeled Backwards, to module and to vehicle were reversed which wasted 30 minutes of time. Beware! etrailer may want to get this right with the vendor or risk a bunch of needless returns.

I am sorry that the harness was labeled incorrectly. I had our Quality team check our stock and made sure that the rest were correct. I know that the right turn wiring on the harness with be the green wire [passenger side] and the left turn wiring on the harness will be will be yellow [drivers side]. The brown wiring on the harness will be the tail lights.

I have bought off of you before everything was great this is the first time that I received something that was not what it was supposed to be or was used before the papers on the installation were all wrinkled and dirty and had writing on the ends of the wire were all cut and the connectors were not on I called your company and they made it right and gave me back my money except for my shipping and they told me just to keep it it's no good to me but thank you and I am still buying off of you

by:

Product worked as advertised. Great service. Thank you.

by:

The order took very long to arrive. There was no help tracking where our order was and when it finally did arrive the day before my installation appointment, it was the wrong product and they couldn't use it.
Now I have to figure out how to return the product

Easy to install works as expected.

Worst nightmare ever! Our mechanic has a person who wires cars for trailers. He could not make it work ($XXX). We were rushed to get it working, before our big summer trip and a Car Electronics Specialist got it working for us ($XXX). I guess I should have gone with a Blue Ox wiring kit. But nothing but this one was recommended to me.

Great diy product with easy to follow instructions that require only basis tools.

by:

Everything needed to wire the tail lights to the rv

by:
2016 Toyota Corolla

Two mislabeled circuits. One on the left and one on the right. Difficult installation. Took two days to complete and my son who works on aircraft avionics was the person to do most of the install. It works when finally all installed correctly. Lots of metering to get this done. We did a more difficult routing through the car and firewall to hide and protect all the wiring. Also ran an additional wire if we ever add trailer hitch and need power for that install.

by:

The kit was very easy to install thanks to the wire labels and Easy Fast Installation video available online. Now I no longer need the magnetic mickey mouse ear tow lights. Thanks etrailer.

etrailer was a great resource for me to establish my towable. Always available, replaced a damaged part with no issues. One of the best online large projects I've had. Went into this expecting the usual battle, but they were great.

by:

service was great and very profesional

by:

Package improperly packed. Smaller box crushed by heavier base plate box. Paper dunnage only on top, not separating cartons inside.
Fortunately no apparent damage to product. Will test when installed.
This is a teachable moment for packing department.

Well built, easy to connect & disconnect by myself.
I am glad I spent a little more for a high quality product!

  • Will Curt Universal Tail Light Wiring Kit C63CR Work On 2017 Ford Fusion Being Flat Towed?
The Curt Universal Tail Light Wiring Kit # C63CR you were looking at is confirmed to fit your 2017 Ford Fusion Hybrid and would be a great option to power your lights while flat towing it. We have not had a chance to install this specific harness on a Fusion yet but I included the installation video on a 2017 Ford Focus for you to take a look at. You will still need a tow bar, base plate kit, safety cables, and a supplemental braking system. If you do not have these let me know and I...

We have tow bar lighting solutions for your 2022 Ford F-150 that has LED taillights but we don't have anything that is plug and play as that's pretty rare to be available for vehicles still. We did have the chance to install the Curt wiring kit part # C63CR on a similar 2020 Ford F-150 as yours though which I attached an install video link to on this page that would walk you through the entire process. This will take out a lot of the guesswork but it does still require splicing into the...

  • Troubleshooting Running Light Circuit for Curt Flat Tow Wiring on 2019 Ford Ranger
That definitely doesn't sound good. The brown wires on both sides of the Curt Universal Tail Light Wiring Kit # C63CR should be sending signals since it's for different tail light sides on your 2019 Ford Ranger. It could be a bad diode but it could also be damaged wiring. I recommend adding 12V power to the 4-Way pin with the green wire and then checking the green wire at the butt connectors to see if the signal gets to the end of the wiring. This tells you if the issue is that diode/module...

You won't need any type of converter when installing the Curt Universal Tail Light Wiring Kit # C63CR on your 2013 Lincoln MKS. However there is a distinct process that you'll want to follow to determine how this system will be installed that tells you whether you've got a 2 or 3 wire system and how to install the unit.
