Adding a 7-Way and Brake Controller to a 2007 Nissan Frontier
Question:
My 2007 Nissan Frontier HAS the two tow connectors on the driver side frame rail. My questions is that I see a lot of talk about installing relays under the passanger side kick panel. If i already have the factory tow connectors near bumper, do I need to do anything else to connect the 7 pin ? Also does the 7 pin handle electric trailer brakes?

If your 2007 Nissan Frontier did not come with a trailer connector (not the connection points they would plug into) then in order to install a 7-Way you will need to install # 118266. This is the 7-Way connector and the jumper harness with the relays that install behind that passenger side kick panel. This is the correct harness if your Frontier did not come with a factory tow package.
The 7-Way trailer connector does handle trailer brakes but you will need a brake controller as well. I recommend the P2, # 90885, because it is easy to set up and use and it is reliable. You will also need the proper brake controller harness, # 3050-P. I have included links to a video and instructions that should help.
You would only use # 118267 if you were replacing a factory 7-Way trailer connector. It does not have the relays needed to make it active. The one sure-fire way to know if your truck has the factory tow package is to have the dealer run the VIN.
