Can 30 Amp Surge Protection be Used on 50 Amp Service

Question:

I have a 50 amp service and will be using a 30 amp adapter at the campsite this weekend. Will this still protect? I know my camco 50 amp protector says it will not work with an 30 to 50 adapter so I need to buy one that is just for 30 amp as well.

You'll want to run the amount of amperage of circuit protection that your camper would need. If your RV was designed for 50 amp power and you were using a 30 amp power supply your 50 amp protection would prevent anything from surging over 50 amps. Which probably would be fine but it would not protect spikes above 30 like what the part # HU97FR was designed for.
