Left Hand Turn Signal and Brake Lights Work on Vehicle but Not on Trailer

Since your truck tail lights are working properly but you're not receiving voltage on the harness, we can isolate the issue to the 7 way wiring on your truck-specifically the left side. First thing to do is to check your vehicle's 7 way connector and make sure that there is no corrosion or dirt. If you're seeing any dirt or rust, make sure to clean it off and see if that addresses the problem. Next, check the fuse box and make sure that you don't have a blown fuse on the LH trailer wire running to the 7 way. Once we've been able to cross those off the list of causes we can move on to the wiring.

Starting behind the 7 way connector on your vehicle, start tracing the left side stop/turn light wiring back to the fuse box, checking for any type of damage to the wires. You can replace damaged wiring as needed with # 10-1-1 which is sold by the foot. Once you've replaced any damaged wires, go ahead and test out your 7 way connector to make sure that the problem has been resolved.

If you're not seeing any damaged wires, or the problem hasn't been fixed, go ahead and make sure that your ground connection is secure- it's possible that there is an issue with the ground wire not being secure. Make sure that it is grounded to a paint free area of the vehicle and free from debris.
