When choosing a Weight Distribution (WD) system you need one with a Tongue Weight (TW) range that the Total Tongue Weight (TTW) of your towing setup falls in the middle of. To find the TTW of your towing setup you will need to add the TW of your fully loaded and ready-to-go trailer along with the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. Keep in mind that a properly loaded trailer will have a TW that is 10-15% of the loaded weight of your trailer.

Since the dry hitch weight of your 2016 Jayco Jay Flight SLX 287BHSW is 645 lbs and the GVWR is 7,500 lbs this will put your TW range between 645 lbs - 1,125 lbs. The Equal-i-zer # EQ37120ET that you referenced has a TW range of 800 lbs - 1,200 lbs so if you plan on always towing your trailer with a load in it you should be just fine. The only other thing we recommend using is a thin-walled socket like part # EQ70-00-4800 to install the hitch ball.

If there will be times that you tow the Jayco without much weight in it then you may want to look into the Strait-Line # RP66084 instead. This is another great WD system that has a TW range from 600 lbs - 1,200 lbs. The only thing that you need to complete this system is a hitch ball like the 2" # A-90 or 2-5/16" # 19286.

Review videos for both systems have been linked for you to reference.
