Looking for Trailer Clearance Light to Fit 2-5/8 Inch Rough Opening

Updated 12/08/2014 | Published 12/06/2014

Question:

I am rebuilding a older snobird snowmobile trailer, guessing around 1992. I have a hole that measures about 2 5/8inch hole for a clearance light. What size sealed round light will work in this application that uses a rubber grommet ?

I'd recommend the # MCL59RB for red or # MCL59AB for amber. The lamps are sealed and are waterproof, perfect for a snowmobile trailer. Each LED lamp is 2-1/2 inches in diameter. With the lamp, you'd use the # A57GB grommet, which requires a 2-25/32 inch hole, which is about .156 of an inch larger than the 2-5/8 inch hole you referenced. If your 2-5/8 inch measurement is right on the mark, it would take just a few moments with a Dremel or a round file to slightly enlarge the existing holes to the # A57GB grommet would fit. You would also need the # A46PB pigtail.

This would be your best bet, as we don't offer any lamps or grommets that would exactly fit a 2-5/8 inch hole.
