Question:
I have a 2014 Q5 and do not like the factory provided sport rack. I need a ski rack that connects directly to the rail. What are my options? I assume if I purchased the items described below, than I still need to buy something that holds the skis? I would prefer to have one half skis and the other side compatible for a bike.? For a Thule AeroBlade system you have some options. I recommend the Thule AeroBlade Edge roof rack, # TH7603-TH7603, with fit kit # THKIT4002. This style is more OEM in appearance because the ends of the bars are integrated into the feet.

The AeroBlade Edge roof rack, # TH7603-TH7603 has a fit kit that has been discontinued for your 2014 Audi Q5. The alternative available is the Wingbar # TH711320, Foot # TH710601, and Fit Kit # TH186019.
For a bike rack for the one side of your roof you could go with the Thule Sidearm part # TH599000, and then for a ski rack the Thule part # TH7324.
