Question:
I am looking for a rack for my 2007 silverado with a cap. I need a rack that is adjustable. Meaning I am a contractor that needs to carry lumber/ladders, but I want the rack to be remove able quickly when not in use. I was looking at the rhino hd or a thule aeroblades not sure about tie down abilities with a track setup, but I have an 8 foot bed. What do I do about the track length? I would appreciate any advice. Thank you

The adjustable ladder racks we offer for your 2007 Chevrolet Silverado Classic require mounting the tracks to the roof of your cap on the bed of your truck.
I recommend part # Y01-120B. This system features the 54 inch heavy-duty square crossbars, and has a C-Channel designed for mounting Rhino-Rack accessories and carriers. This roof rack also has a 220 lb weight capacity. This roof rack also features 63 inch tracks that are attached to the camper shell, or hardtop resin roofs with no headliner.
Another system I recommend is the Rhino Rack Ladder Rack, part # Y02-480B. This roof rack also features 63 inch tracks that are attached to the camper shell, or hardtop resin roofs with no headliner. The aerodynamic crossbars reduce wind drag and cut down on wind noise. You can easily remove the crossbars when needed by loosening the leg bolts and sliding the legs out of the notches at the end of the tracks. These have a built-in security system by requiring a special tool to loosen. This roof rack has a 220 lb weight capacity, but you will want to make sure you do not exceed the weight capacity of the cap you are attaching it to.
To attach your ladder to the heavy-duty crossbars I recommend part # REGLK2B. This attaches to the C-channel on your crossbars and features sliding hoops that secure the ladder.
The Thule racks we offer that are designed to fit your Silverado do not have the adjustable track feature you requested.
