Question:
I need to replace a boat trailer hub 5 on 4 1/2 inches, but the spindle is only 3/4th of an inch. Are these axles obsolete?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Most likely the axles/spindles on your boat trailer have are obsolete. But there is a chance you could have an agricultural hub like part # AS3000F as this has a 3/4 inch diameter portion at the very end of the spindle.
To see the dimensions of the hub to compare to yours check out the picture I attached. You will want to use a dial caliper to get exact measurements of your spindle to compare to this one.
Unfortunately none of the hubs we offer that would fit this spindle have a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern so you will most likely need to replace your axles.
I attached a link to a page that has all of the axles we offer that come with 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern idler hubs.
