Troubleshooting Squishy Ride Quality with an Air Suspension System and Weight Distritbution System

Updated 10/06/2014 | Published 10/05/2014

Question:

Will this product help quell the slightly squishyinch feeling I have when towing? The WD is fine from the trailer, but the truck has some movement to it. The air springs do the job on keeping the truck level, but Im wondering if this product would have a positive impact on sway, in other words, stiffen up the side-to-side movement. 2013 Tundra Double Cab 5.7

I believe the ride quality issue you are experiencing is related to the fact that you are using an air spring system with a weight distribution system. If you have a properly rated WD system and it is set up properly you should not need to use your air springs to level the truck. It should be leveled already from the WD system. I would double check that your WD system is rated for the loaded tongue weight of your setup and that the WD is set up properly. I attached an FAQ on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well.

Using an air spring system with a WD system isn't an ideal setup as the two systems can work against each other and cause ride quality issues.
