Question:
Looking for a solid state in-line device that prevents a trailer hitch 3rd brake light from flashing when using turn signals. For a 2000 Chev, Blazer with 4 wire trailer hitch wiring system. I have been able to get them in the past locally, but cant find them now. Also, would it work on a LED trailer hitch brake light system? Thanks!

In order to prevent the trailer hitch third brake light on your 2000 Chevrolet Blazer from flashing when using the turn signals, you will need to install the Vehicle to Vehicle Taillight Converter, # 118158. This converter will work with the LED trailer hitch brake light. LED lights are only a concern if they are on the vehicle and the converter draws power from them.
The Vehicle to Vehicle Taillight Converter, # 118158, separates the signals so the third brake light will only illuminate when the brake pedal is pressed. To wire this converter you will need to splice into the green and yellow wire on the trailer hitch third brake light. You will then need to connect the green wire from the left side of the converter with the green wire closest to the plug and the yellow wire from the left side of the converter with the yellow wire closest to the plug. As for the white wire, this will need to be teed into the white wire on the third brake light.
Moving onto the right side of the converter, you will now need to connect the red wire to the green and yellow wires that are closest to the light. As for the remaining yellow and green wires from the converter, since these wires will not be used, you can just tape them up and out of the way.
For all connections I recommend using the Deka Heat Shrink Butt Connector, # DW05745-5. The heat-shrinkable nylon insulation allows for adjustability and provides durability.
