2006 Toyota Tundra Double Door 4x4 Air Lift Kit and Weight Distribution System Recommendation
Updated 09/29/2014 | Published 09/28/2014 >
Question:
Per our discussion regarding first gen Toyota Tundras, what do you think of this lift kit for my Tundra? The 2000 lb. is fine and this one looks ok. But, I would appreciate your recommendation. Your product knowledge and help regarding towing with my 06 Tundra is very helpful. Thanks

The Air Lift Ride Control Air Helper Springs # AL59530 that you referenced has been confirmed to fit your 2006 Toyota Tundra and would work well as suspension enhancement for your vehicle.
However, if you are planning on doing some towing you would instead want a weight distribution system as this would be a more ideal solution since air springs can actually act as a fulcrum point for the tongue weight of a trailer and unload the front suspension slightly.
The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached an FAQ on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well.
