Troubleshooting a P3 Brake Controller that Won't Go Into Sleep Mode
Published 09/22/2014 >
Question:
The display on my Tekonsha P3 brake controller remains on after my truck has been turned off for more than hour with no trailer attached. It previously was working fine. I had to disconnect it to keep from draining my battery.

Check and clean the connectors of the 7-way on your vehicle. Typically when a brake controller like the P3 Brake Controller part # 90195 doesn't want to go into sleep mode it is because the controller is falsely detecting a trailer due to corrosion present on the trailer connector.
