Question:
2007 Lexus RX350. I have a 4 plug harness and need to convert to 7 plug for a trailer with brakes. What is your recommendation for easiest way to get a set up for a trailer with brakes. Is the wireless the way to go?

To convert the 4-way wiring connector on your 2007 Lexus RX350 to a 7-way, you will need to install the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller, # ETBC7. This will give you the additional wiring needed to be able to operate a brake controller when towing a trailer with brakes.
When it comes to whether wiring a brake controller into the interior of your Lexus or going with the wireless is easier, my opinion is that long term a wired brake controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller, # 90195, will be easier. Once mounted and installed, you have very little maintenance if any.
The Tekonsha Prodigy RF Wireless Trailer Brake Controller, # TK94FR, is a great controller that takes a minimal amount of time for installation. Just install the brake controller to your trailer, complete the pairing process, and you are ready to go.
We have found that over time the pairing can be lost on the wireless brake controller and this step will have to be repeated. If you are anything like me, I seem to misplace my installation instructions once a product has been installed. This would now require me to search to find instructions on how to repeat the pairing process so this is why I suggest that the wired controller would be easier in the long run. It just comes down to your personal preference.
I have attached a few articles and videos for you to check out.
