How Can I Use My 2 Inch Bike Rack with my 1-1/4 Inch Hitch
Published 09/09/2008 >
Question:
Hi, my vehicle has a 1.25 hitch and my bike rack has a 2 receiver. Do you carry an extender for this 2 to 1.25 trailer hitch receiver extender? If so, how long is the extender and how much, thanks

We offer adapters so you can use the 2 inch bike rack with the 1 1/4 inch receiver hitch. The appropriate adapter for your hitch depends on what class it is. You can use part # HTAD if your hitch is a Class I or Class II and part # 80303 will only fit Class II.
Please note, using either of these adapters will reduce your tongue weight capacity by 50 percent. If you have a Class I hitch with a 200 pound tongue weight capacity, using this adapter you will only be able to put 100 pounds of tongue weight on the hitch. This means that the combined weight of the rack itself and all the bikes on it must not exceed 100 pounds.
