Question:
I am going to purchase a Curt C11352 trailer hitch for my 2014 Nissan Altima for ocassionally towing a 4X8foot utility trailer. I like the way the Curt mounts to the vehicle better than the other options. I see that there are 2 options for the wiring. The Tow Ready T-one and the Curt T connector. Which one is better and why?

Helpful Expert Reply:
For your 2014 Nissan Altima, the wiring harness I would choose is the Curt T-Connector Wiring Harness, # 56022, because it is rated to handle a higher amperage draw than the Tow Ready harness. For the brake lights and turn signal circuit the Curt T-Connector can handle 3 amps per circuit and for the tail lights it can handle 6 amps per circuit. The Tow Ready T-One can only handle 2.1 amps for the brake lights and turn signal circuits and 5.6 amps for the tail light circuit.
The higher amp rating means the T-Connector harness would be less likely to short out due to excessive amperage draw from the trailer's lights. One of the most difficult parts of the installation is routing the power wire. I have attached a help articles that gives tips on how to route the power wire from the wiring harness to the vehicle's battery for you to check out.
