Question:
The cord from the trailer that connects to my truck was pinched. Had to splice it but still not getting lights when connected. need to check the fuse in the break controller. Where can I find the brake control fuse on a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado.

Under the hood of your 2001 Chevy Silverado, remove the cover on the power distribution box. If standing in front of the truck facing the motor, the brake controller fuse will be that last large one in the back left corner, see picture.
But the brake controller fuse does not have anything to do with the trailer lights though. You will need to check the other tow package fuses, using the owner's manual to locate them, to see if any of them are blown.
There is likely an issue with the trailer connector, and you will need to take a look at it and possibly replace it with a new one. You can test the vehicle side connector to make sure it is functioning by using a circuit tester such as # PTW2993.
