Question:
I'm looking at your Kenda spare tires for cargo trailers. I'm specifically looking at the Kenda Karrier KR53, 5 on 4.5, model KE94WV. I'm confused about the different Kenda tires regarding the Karrier and the Loadstar. I thought those were two different models within the Kenda line of tires, yet when looking at the pictures of the tires on your website one of the pictures shows a tire that says Karrier KR53 at the top of the tire and then Loadstar at the bottom, I thought those were two different tires, with the Loadstar being a Bias tire and the Karrier being a radial tire. Please explain? Also what is the difference between the KE94WV and the KE52EV other than the price? Everything looks identical on both models.

Thanks for letting us help Bob. Kenda uses the Karrier and Loadstar names across its trailer tire lineup, but the name alone doesn't necessarily tell you whether a tire is radial or bias-ply. The best way to identify the construction is by looking at the tire size stamped on the sidewall. For instance, the "R" in the Kenda Karrier KR53 ST205/75R15 # KE94WV indicates radial construction. The "D" in the Loadstar ST205/75D15 Trailer Tire # AM3S664DX will indicate diagonal (bias ply) construction.
The Kenda Karrier KR53 ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire # KE94WV and the Kenda Karrier KR53 ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire # KE52EV you mentioned are very similar. Both use a Kenda Karrier KR53 ST205/75R15 radial tire mounted on a 15" black modular steel wheel with a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern. The only difference is going to be in the load rating and weight capacities of the tires themselves. The # KE94WV uses a load range D tire which will support up to 2,200 lbs per tire at 70 PSI. The # KE52EV uses a load range C tires that supports up to 1,820 lbs per tire at 50 PSI. Physically, everything else about the tire will be the same.
What is the load range rating on your existing tires? I would recommend matching that with your spare tire as long it is appropriately rated for your setup. This will be listed on the tire in a similar way to the photo I have included below.

Great, thank you so much for the reply. I appreciate the explanation. I am ordering a cargo trailer in a couple of weeks and once I get it and see what kind of tires are on it, I will order the appropriate spare tire. I think the KE94WV will be the one I order. Have a nice day. Bob
