Hi there! The Roadmaster Universal Tail Light Wiring Kit with 10" LED Strips # RM35MR uses 16 gauge wire for the running lights, brake lights, and turn signals. If you're planning to extend the harness or make a repair, I'd stick with 16 gauge automotive wire to keep everything consistent.

Are you looking to extend the wiring or replace a section of it?

To whomever is considering using the LED Light Strips: This solved a huge problem for me. After I converted my Bus conversion over to all LED running lights I had an issue when connecting the Toad lights on my 2015 GMC Sierra 1500. Using the diodes did not work because all of the running lights on the truck are regular filament type bulbs. I tried several potential solutions but I couldn't get an LED compatible flasher unit for starters. When I switched the rear running light bulbs to LED then they weren't compatible with the front or cab running light bulbs. Turns out the easy solution was the RM35MR Roadmaster LED tail light strips. This eliminated the need to tap into any of the truck wiring. I already had the wires run from the front to the back of the truck so it was easy to splice into them and peel & stick the LED light strips right above the bumper and below the bottom edge of the tailgate. They are super bright, work flawlessly and the only thing I regret is they weren't available when I originally set up the truck to tow. Since they are controlled off the coach running/turn signal circuits (which utilize a LED compatible flasher relay) they work like the rest of the coach's LED lights. As long as the coach (or tow vehicle) has LED lights this setup is a no-brainer.
