Can The Replacement Power Unit for etrailer and Ram Hydraulic Trailer Jacks Be Mounted Laying Down?

Updated 10/28/2026 | Published 10/27/2026

Question:

Can the e25RV be mounted laying down with the fill ports facing up? Or do you have another unit that has a 2 gallon capacity that will?

Hey Don, thanks for reaching out. The etrailer Hydraulic Power Unit # e25RV cannot be mounted horizontally with the fill ports facing up. It must be mounted upright to ensure proper hydraulic fluid levels and operation. Unfortunately, I don't have an alternative 2-gallon power unit designed for horizontal mounting. These hydraulic power units are brand and model specific, so they aren't interchangeable between different systems.

Are you working with limited mounting space, or are you trying to replace an existing hydraulic power unit?

Useing 2) 2.5x8x1.125 cylinders for a tilt deck on a trailer. I need a horizontal tank because of space restrictions and with enough volume to handle these cylinders.

@DonL Gotcha. Looking thru our other hydraulic power units, we do have the Replacement 7-Quart Pump Horizontal Power Unit for Towable Level-Up RV Hydraulic Leveling System # LC56FR which mounts horizontally. This has a 7-quart pump.
