Best Lithium Compatible Converter For Replacing Intellipower 9100 Model PD9160A

Question:
Hi, Im converting a 2004 Arctic Fox Model 29-5T fifth-wheel trailer to Lithium batteries. Currently it has a Progressive Dynamics power center I cant find the model number, and under a kitchen drawer I find a Intellipower 9100 Model PD9160A. I must conclude that this is the charger, and so the power center does not have a charging section I should be able to just connect a new Li-compatible charger to the existing power center, and not mess with the power center with all of its wires. Please confirm? Thanks in advance. BTW, Artificial intelligence searches seem to be wrong, indicating I should replace the charging segmentinch of the power center.

Hey Gary, thanks for reaching out. You're on the right track here. The Inteli-Power PD9160A you found under your kitchen drawer is your existing converter/charger, so there's no need to replace the entire power center or mess with all of its wiring. You'll just need to replace that converter with one that's compatible with lithium batteries. For that, I recommend the Progressive Dynamics 9300 Series RV Converter Charger # PD79RR, which provides 60 amps of charging power and supports lithium batteries.
The # PD79RR is a great replacement for your existing PD9160A and lets you keep your current power distribution setup. You'll just need to disconnect the old converter and connect the new one to the appropriate AC power supply and DC wiring.
Are you planning on doing much boondocking with your Arctic Fox, or do you primarily stay at campgrounds with hookups?
