Hey William, thanks for reaching out. Yes, we do have solutions for carrying your Specialized Turbo SL 4.0 with your 2022 Volkswagen Arteon SE. You can do either a trunk mounted rack, or a roof rack and roof mounted carrier.

The trunk rack will be more cost effective, but the rack contacts the back of the car, so you do run the risk or scuffing or scratching the paint. The roof rack will be more expensive, but no part of the carrier actually contacts the car, so is better for the vehicle. Plus, it is just a cleaner, more secure setup.

Here is what I recommend:

Trunk rack:

- Saris Bones EX 2 Bike Rack - Adjustable Arms - Trunk Mount # SAR83FR

Roof mounted system:

- Thule WingBar Evo Roof Rack for Naked Roofs - Aluminum - Black - Qty 2 # TH85TG

- Yakima FrontLoader Wheel Mount Bike Carrier - Roof Mount # Y02103

How often will you be hauling the bike? Do you ride daily, or just on occasion?

3 times a week. Usually local with an occasional 80 mile round trip to other trails.

@WilliamF Ok nice! If it were me, I'd honestly lean towards the trunk rack. It'll hold the bike nice and securely, and it is much easier to lift the bike onto a trunk rack compared to a roof mounted carrier. Plus, you'll have a spot for a second bike if you ever end up riding with a friend. The only downside is the potential to scuff the vehicle paint, and the fact that you need to be really careful opening the trunk with the rack installed. It is possible to open the trunk with the rack on there. Just be careful not to whack yourself in the head with the rack arms as you close the trunk. Don't ask me how I know lol

The Saris Bones worked for me in the mountains of Colorado, carrying 2 bicycles.
