Question:

I was wondering if this demco hitch can be made like the Gen Y combo hitch. meaning just adding the gooseneck ball in front of 5th wheel. I haul RVs for a living and would be nice to leave it and set it and im prepared for whatever 5th wheel type instead of moving and removing. I have use demco hitches and love them . I really wish they make something dual purpose.

Hey Oscar.

Unfortunately, no. The # DM67GV cannot be used as a combination 5th wheel and gooseneck hitch. This hitch mounts directly into the Rams factory puck system so even something like # DM5996 would require you to have the above bed rails to make the switch when needed. Now, if you have the 8' bed with the OEM puck system then # GY96RD will provide you with the 5th wheel and gooseneck setup you're looking for at roughly the same cost.
