Hi Roland!

The MORryde Cushioned 5th Wheel Pin Box for 14K to 18K Trailers w/ Lippert Rhino # MR83QR is indeed compatible with the Andersen Ultimate hitch!

Unlike pivoting or rotating pin boxes (such as the Roto-Flex) which are explicitly incompatible with the Andersen Ultimate Hitch because they tilt out of alignment, the MORryde design keeps the king pin vertical and the pin plate horizontal during travel. However, it should be noted that the independent movement/cushioning of the MORryde pin box combined with the Andersen funnel can occasionally introduce fore-and-aft motion ( also called chucking), so just be aware of that.

What kind of camper are you wanting to install this on? And what truck are you using to tow it with?

I’m installing this on a 2027 Grand Design Influence 3003RL 5th wheel with the Lippert Rhino Box. I’m towing with a RAM 3500 SRW Cummins truck and currently use an Anderson Ultimate hitch. I’ve notice chucking with the Rhino Box pin and was hoping the MORryde would settle that down a bit.

@RolandT Gotcha. The MORryde cushioned pin box will be better than the Lippert Rhino Box you currently have. The Anderson Ultimate hitch may still have some chucking though. If you are finding it to still be too much, you can go with something like the Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter - Single Jaw - 21,000 lbs # DM8550045. However, this is quite a bit heavier than the Anderson (Head: 41 pounds - Base: 90 pounds). The head and the base to come apart pretty easily if/when you remove it, so that does help with that part.

@LazerS Thanks for the information. I'm going to stick with the MORryde pin box, but just trying to ensure I pick the right set up. So I have a 2027 Grand Design Influence 3003RL with a GVWR of 18000lbs with the Lippert Rhino Box with these identifiers: SN = S014718602 RPO = 0016208663 Can you identify which MORryde cushioned pin box would be appropriate for my 5th wheel?

@RolandT With the GVWR of your 2027 Grand Design Influence 3003RL being 18K, the MORryde Cushioned 5th Wheel Pin Box for 14K to 18K Trailers w/ Lippert Rhino # MR83QR is going to be your best option. The next step up is for trailers that weigh 18K to 21K and will be too stiff for your trailer.

I have a pullrite automatic slider 5th wheel hitch, and purchased the Moryde cushion hitch and capture plate that goes with it and I’m very pleased with the ride it gives. Highly recommend the Moryde cushion hitch.
