Recommended Generator For 13.5K Furrion Chill Cube And Other Appliances

Updated 10/12/2026 | Published 10/09/2026

Question:

We take our travel trailer to the racetrack and usually don't have hookups. I'm looking at the new 13.5K Chill Cube and need a generator that will run it without having to shut the AC off every time we use the microwave or make coffee. Our camper has a 30 amp power cord. What would you recommend?

Hey Joel! I recommend the Onan 4,500-Watt Portable Inverter Generator # CM76MR for your days at the track. This gives you 3,700 running watts and a built-in 30A RV outlet, so your camper plugs directly in without an adapter.

It can supply your camper's full 30A service, giving you room for other appliances instead of choosing a generator sized just for the air conditioner. The Onan also has remote start, so you won't have to walk outside every time you need to start it. The built-in wheels and handle make it easier to move into position once you get to the track.

For the Chill Cube, you can choose from the following systems based on color:

-Furrion Chill Cube RV AC System - 13.5K Btu - Ducted/Non-Ducted - White # FR639YV

-Furrion Chill Cube RV AC System - 13.5K Btu - Ducted/Non-Ducted - Black # FR739YV

Both of these are complete systems that include the rooftop unit, ADB, and thermostat. Since they're variable speed, the power draw is really low and they're super efficient, so they will pair nicely with a generator.

What kind of travel trailer are you taking to the track?
