Question:

Would this product work on a 2017 Mercedes Sprinter - Lets Go Aero GearDeck 17 Cargo Carrier w/ 2-Bike Add-On - 2 Hitches - 300 lbs Part Number: LGA82ZR? Would it block the rear lights?

Hey Kurt! The Lets Go Aero GearDeck 17 # LGA82ZR will work with your 2017 Mercedes Sprinter as long as you have a 2" hitch receiver with sufficient tongue weight capacity. However, I can't say for sure whether it will block your Sprinter's taillights without knowing their position relative to the carrier.

The cargo box measures 48" wide x 27" tall, so you can compare that to the rear of your van. Also, the GearDeck has built-in LED taillights with stop, turn, and running light functions, so even if it blocks your factory lights, you'll still have functioning lights on the back of the carrier. If I had to guess, the lights on the Sprinter will be partially covered, so you'll still get some visibility from those along with the ones on the carrier.

What will you be storing in your GearDeck?

I'll be storing miscellaneous camping supplies. So the lights on the unit plug into the Sprinter so break and turn signal lights work?

@KurtS yes, that is correct. The GearDeck plugs into your Sprinter's 4-way trailer wiring connector, so the lights on the carrier will function as brake lights, turn signals, and running lights.

@RobinH Is it easy to put on and remove? I don't want it there full time. Will I have access to my back doors while it's on? How difficult to put together is it? The video implies that the bike rack is a bit difficult.

@KurtS the GearDeck slides into your hitch receiver, so you can remove it when you're not using it. It also has a sliding design that allows you to move the carrier away from the vehicle for access to your rear doors. There is some assembly required for the carrier and bike rack, but it's a one-time process. Once everything is assembled, you won't have to take it apart each time you remove it from your Sprinter.
