Will The Spare Tire Still Fit On A 2025 Honda Pilot After Installing The etrailer Hitch e27KR?
Published 10/08/2026 >
Question:
I see the spare needs to be lowered to install the hitch. I assume this is to access the mounting areas more easily. As im sure this wouldnt need to be removed to actually get the spare down? Mike

Hi Mike!
You are correct! Lowering the spare on your 2025 Honda Pilot allows for easier access to several bolt holes. This makes installing the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e27KR significantly easier. You could probably install the hitch without doing that, but it would make it a lot harder, so I recommend lowering the spare.
And to your second question, you will definitely be able to lower the spare with the hitch installed as well. You might (and I emphasize "might") have to push the spare forward a little to get it back into place completely, but that would be it. Other than that, there will be no issues.
What are you planning on using the hitch for once it's installed?
