Question:

I have a 2015 Stinger motorcycle trailer model XL-112. It currently has 8 inch tires and 5 hole rims is limited to 65 mph. What is needed to change to a larger 12 inch tire to handle higher highway speeds?

Hey Jason. To get your 2015 Stinger motorcycle trailer model XL-112 up to highway speeds, I recommend the Karrier S-Trail Radial Trailer Tire with 12" Wheel item # KE96EV. This tire has a speed rating of M, which tops out at 81 mph.

The Karrier S-Trail Radial Trailer Tire item # KE96EV is sold individually and includes a 12" aluminum wheel with a 5 on 4-1/2" lug nut pattern. This is a load range D tire with plenty of capacity at 1,220 lbs. The tire measures 21-1/2" in diameter and is 4" wide. You'll want to take these measurements and compare them to your 8" tires and see if you have enough clearance beneath the fenders. It's recommended to have at least 2" to allow the suspension to move with hitting the bottom of your fender.

I also recommend the Trailer Wheel Center Cap item # SEN53FR. These are also sold individually and are compatible with the S-Trail Radial Trailer Tire with 12" Wheel item # KE96EV.
