Question:

Your video indicates that the water flows from the male end to the female end despite what the arrow on the check valve seems to indicate. Do you install the check valve on the side of the pump where the water is drawn from the tank, or on the outflow side of the pump? Is there a way to tell which side is the correct side to install the check valve. The picture of the installed check valve appears to show the female end against the pump, which suggests that the check valve is installed on the inflow side so the water can flow from the male end to the female end and into the pump? Is that correct?

Hi Doug,

The RV Check Valve for Fresh Water part # 37262195 can be installed on either side of the pump depending on what you're trying to accomplish, but the water must flow in its intended direction like what's shown in the diagram. The photo that we have of the valve installed it was submitted to us from a review so I'm not sure how that valve is orientated in their set up. If the white hose is connected to the inlet side of the pump it makes sense that the female end of the valve is towards the pump as water is going into the pump. However you're intending to install the valve, the water must flow through it from the male end to the female end.

How are you planning on installing the valve? On a hose with the water going into the pump or coming out?
