Will Adding Spacers To My Timbren Suspension Setup Help Level My Truck?

Question:
Hello, I currently have timbrens installed on my stock 2011 F250, no lift. Because I permanently run with an ARE CX heavy duty truck cap and a very heavy, 1500lb-rated full extension BedSlide, the timbrens are slightly loaded even before I load cargo or hitch up my travel trailer, which has a 1,000 lb tongue weight. The weight distribution my E4 Equalizer provides is pretty darn perfect based upon fender measurements and steering feel, but the trailer is about 1” nose down and the truck is a bit more nose up than I’d like. I was thinking of adding the 1” spacer to solve the nose up issue without trying to address it by overcorrecting weight distribution. My theory is that since the timbrens are always loaded anyway and I like that ride, the 1” spacers will bring the trailer nose up and the truck nose down, while the wdh will stay pretty dialed in. Timbren says this can be a suitable application of spacers when a truck is permanently under partial load and a bit older. Just wanted an expert opinion to confirm or refute that. Thanks.

Hey Mike, welcome back! In your case, I like adding the 1" spacers better than cranking more tension into an Equal-i-zer setup that you already know is distributing the tongue weight correctly. The spacer makes the Timbrens engage farther into their progressive spring rate and gives that permanently loaded rear suspension more support, which can bring the rear of the F-250 up and help get the trailer closer to level without intentionally over-adjusting the WDH.
We have the 1" spacers available, I'll just need to know if your Timbren kit uses a 1/2" or 3/8" bolt. Here are the part numbers for both:
- Timbren 1" Spacer For Raised Frame Vehicles - 1/2" Bushing # TA25723-90AD00
- Timbren 1" Spacer For Raised Frame Vehicles - 3/8" Bushing # A25723-90AH00
What do you usually keep on that BedSlide? Work gear, camping setup, or both?
