Question:

I have a Venture Mfg LCI PN 142178, ser no 9000-348017 Landing Gear passenger leg that has blown out the screw nut threads that the jack screw screws into. Is that a replaceable component? It is on a Genesis Vortex 2815VT

It sure is Chuck and thanks for the picture. The Lippert Venture Follow Leg Repair Kit for 5th Wheel RV Landing Gear item # LC146060 is the correct one for your Venture landing gear follow or passenger side leg.

The item # LC146060 kit includes 1 follow drive shaft, 2 drive shaft bushings, 1 E-clip, 1 drive pin, 1 spiral pin, 1 12T bevel gear, 1 16T bevel gear, and 1 shim washer.

The housing of your landing gear leg looks pretty bent up from the picture you sent. If the Repair Kit item # LC146060 doesn't get it back up and running, you'll need to replace the follow leg on your Venture landing gear with one of the following replacement legs. To ensure you get the correct leg you will need to measure the length of the outer black portion of the leg.

The Replacement Follow Leg item # LC119101 has an outer tube length of 29-1/2".

The Replacement Follow Leg item # LC64PJ has an outer tube length of 33-1/2".

How did your landing gear leg get damaged? Feel free to answer this and throw in any other questions you have, where it says Add Comment.

The RT angle gears are fine. It is the clamped in (captured nut) nut that the screw goes into that stripped out.. I have ordered a rod coupler nut that I am going to weld and replace the stripped out capture nut.
