Question:
Hello, I have the Ram factory branded 25k 5th wheel hitch in my 2018 2500 and want a direct fit wedge block for my Lippert 10k turning point pin box, can you recommend the correct part numbers either for a Curt or Reese wedge, thanks.

Hello Tim,
Thanks for finally finding a reason to write into us, 16 years of orders, no questions, you must know your stuff =)
There are two different Ram factory 25K fifth wheel hitch styles out there, and that is the important part here. Some use the Curt A-Series style head, while others use the Curt Q-Series style head.
I attached an image showing the A25 and Q25 side by side so you can compare it to yours. The easiest way to tell is by the marking on the front of the hitch.
If yours is the A25 style, you will want the Sidewinder Wedge for Curt A-Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # C16992 for your Lippert Turning Point pin box.
If yours is the Q25 style, you will not want to use the Turning Point in the rotating position because the Q-Series uses a spherical axial bearing that is not compatible with rotating pin boxes.
Are you using the Turning Point mainly for extra cab clearance with the short bed on your Ram 2500?

Hi Tim, I use the wedge for over a year and enjoyed having it. With the turning point pin box it made turning in cul-de-sacs a breeze. My only suggestion is to make sure that the wedge is centered and tight to the hitch head. It's great for short bed trucks as it helps to worry less about turning into the back of your cab. The great thing about it is if you don't like it you can go back to the pin box. And e trailer will get you the right part without worry, they are very good at what they sell. Happy camping!

Tim, I have a Ram 2500 short bed with a Curt A25 puck mounted hitch. For a while I used the wedge and turning point and it worked great once it was latched. I had an issue getting it to latch a few times, the last time I made several attempts with no luck. I removed the wedge and bolted the pin box ridged. I’ve been towing it that way for more than two years and without a slider, even so I can still make a pretty sharp turn without hitting the truck cab. I just have to be mindful while backing up. I hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply Kate, it looks like my Ram M25 is the Q series, even though the pic you show models with a rail system and my M25 is a factory puck mounted hitch unit... well this is a bummer, since I really wanted to use the turning point pin box on on occasions where I need to turn tight, can you tell me what is the issue using the Q-series with a turning point pinbox, such as detachment? or wedge override, also would it be ok to use in just parking situations at slow speeds, I have a trip coming up and the area has some potentially tight curves and would only traveling at a mph... I also double tow with this rig, but do not want to use the TP when I run a 2x tow, thanks for your help, regards.
