Question:

I have recently purchased a BandW Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch BWRVK3710 for my 2022 Chevy 2500HD standard bed truck. My trailer is equipped with a Curt Turning Point 5th wheel Pin Box. My intent is to use a locking wedge so the trailer will pivot at the trailer connection point and not the king pin so as to avoid the possibility of the trailer and cab colliding. My question is: What is the proper wedge plate for this combination of Pin box and Hitch? Will a Reese SWW-06 Sidewinder Fifth Wheel Wedge Kit for BandWinch work or do I need something different?

I travelled approximately 5000 miles towing our 31foot, 10,000 lb 5th Wheel with the B&W Companion and Curt Turning Point setup utilizing the wedge kit. The wedge kit/Curt Turning Point combination worked perfectly allowing me to back into tight spots executing sharp 90 degree plus turns without fear of striking the cab of my standard bed (6'-8") 2022 Silverado 2500HD pickup. A great combo for those who do not have a full size 8 foot bed. On a side note, the B&W Companion hitch easily disassembles into 2 parts, approximately 75 lbs each, allowing me to install and remove the hitch without assistance.
