Are Brake Assemblies of etrailer Axle # e43SR Manual or Self Adjust
Published 09/23/2026 >
Question:
Are the brakes self adjusting? I am replacing the back axle of a tandem trailer to one that has brakes, potentially this one. Does it matter if only the back axle has a camber? Do you have an equivalent axle that is straight?

Hey Greg, the brake assemblies that come with the etrailer axle part # e43SR are manual adjust brake assemblies. When trailer axles don't have a load on them they are designed to have a bit of a bow in them like this axle. Unless someone made a homemade axle out of a straight beam a trailer axle is going to have a bow in it like this one. About how old is your trailer?
