Suspension Enhancement and Brake Controller Recommendation 2026 Nissan Frontier

Question:

I have a 2026 Nissan Frontier Pro-4x Roush and pull a Opus4 off road trailer with dry weight of about 3200lb and wet maybe 4400lb. I also have a overland camper shell ordered for it that will weight out about 225lbs. Would you recommend sumo springs for rear or the Tibron off-road springs? What brake controller, Curt triflex or maybe Redarc or other?

Hey Steve, welcome back! Congrats on the new Frontier. So I would for sure recommend the SumoSprings part # SS96EV for your 2026 Frontier over the Timbren as SumoSprings give you the support you are looking for without the ride quality harshness that the Timbrens are known for.

Then for a brake controller I can't recommend the Redarc Tow Pro Liberty part # RED53CR high enough. This is a super reliable brake controller that performs well that also only puts a small knob on the dash. The Curt brake controllers including the wireless one just aren't known for being super reliable so I don't recommend them generally. Got any big trips planned for this year or are you waiting till next season?
