EcoHitch Hidden Hitch & OEM Trailer Wiring Mounting for 2023 Tesla Model Y

Updated 09/18/2026 | Published 09/16/2026

Question:

Hi, I’m looking at the EcoHitch for a 2023 Tesla Model Y. I want to use Tesla’s OEM REV2 trailer wiring setup with the hitch, including the factory 9-pin harness, trailer ECU/module, and OEM 7-pin socket. Does the EcoHitch have mounting provisions for the Tesla OEM trailer ECU and 7-pin socket, or would custom brackets/fabrication be required? If custom mounting is needed, do you have a recommended bracket/setup or any examples from customers who have done this? Thanks.

Hi Dylan,

Yes, the EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch, part # EH39FR that you are looking at, will work with your 2023 Tesla Model Y. One of the things I really like about the EcoHitch is its concealed design, so once it’s installed, you get a clean look without the hitch being as noticeable behind the vehicle.

The hitch does not have a dedicated mounting provision for the Tesla OEM 7 way socket, so you would need to add a separate bracket. I like the Eclipse Magnetic Mounting Bracket for 7 Way and 6 Way Trailer Connectors, part # 306-X6020, because the magnetic mount lets you position the socket without having to drill into the hitch. This is what I would go with, I looked up photos of the OEM wiring harness and it looks like just a standard 7-way plug so this will work well for you.

What are you planning on carrying with the Model Y first?
