Does 2009 Airstream Classic with Parallax 7300 Need Replacement Converter
Updated 09/15/2026 | Published 09/14/2026 >
Question:
I have a 2009 Airstream classic limited with a parallax 7300 with a 7355 converter. The battery does not appear to be charging, the converter fan is not coming on and the trailer interior lights dim when the furnance, water pump and other electrical devices are used. So do I need to replace the converter or the distribution panel? Also the main 30 amp breaker did need to be reset after a heavy draw with the a/c plus other devices being used at the same time. Thanks Ed

Hey Edwin, it does seem like the battery isn't getting charged based on what you described but I would try checking the battery for voltage when not connected to shore power and then again with it connected to see if there's a voltage difference that would indicate it's actually doing it's job.
If it does need replacing like it sounds like it does the correct part number is the # PD4655V.

I swapped out a wfco 8755 for the progressive dynamics PD4655v and it was super easy. Just go wire for wire and now I have reliability and more capabilities for lithium.
