Air Bag Fitment for a GMC Sierra 2500 with a 7" Lift

Updated 09/11/2026 | Published 09/05/2026

Question:

I have a 2022 GMC Sierra 2500HD with a 7” FTS lift. Do you have an air bag system that would work for the rear. Thanks.

Thanks for letting us help Johnny. A 7" lift may be approaching the limit of what we can accommodate with a standard air bag kit and lift spacer, but there's an easy way to determine whether the setup will work. The key measurement is the distance between the points where the upper and lower air bag brackets will mount. Normally, this measurement is taken with the brackets installed, but if you can send me the measurement from your truck, I should be able to help determine fitment.

On your truck, measure from the top of the factory jounce bumper cup down to the jounce bumper strike plate. If the factory jounce bumper is still installed, it will ultimately be removed when the air bags are installed.

The Firestone Lift Spacers # F2374 are commonly paired with air bag kits such as the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2613 on trucks with approximately a 6" lift. However, the advertised suspension lift isn't actually the most important factor when selecting a spacer. What matters is the actual distance between the upper and lower air bag mounting brackets. The # F2374 spacers are designed for applications where that distance measures between 11-1/2" and 12-1/2", measured without the air bag installed. If you can send me that measurement, I can determine whether we have an air bag and spacer kit that will accommodate your 7" lift.

What has you considering an air bag kit? Are you towing or hauling something that's causing the rear of your truck to squat?

@JohnnyT Without the thickness of the brackets included in your measurement, I'd go with # F2371. These spacers are used when the distance between the upper and lower brackets is between 9-1/2" and 10-1/2". The Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2613 will work with these spacers. We also sell these air bags as a kit with a compressor and in cab control if you prefer. For wireless in cab control, you'd go with # F64XV and for manual control go with # F84XV.
