Trailer Wiring Harness Recommendation for 2009 Toyota RAV4

Question:
I have bought 2 trailer harnesss from different companies and the connectors wont fit. The drivers side and passenger side are different sizes. Passenger side is larger.2009 Rav4

Hey Michael, sorry to hear about the issue you had with trailer wiring for your 2009 Toyota RAV4. While I don't know what kits you have tried we do have the Curt part # C56165 that we have confirmed is a fit for your 2009 RAV4 and will for sure fit without any issues. Which harnesses did you try already?

2011 RAV4, I put the harness on my daughter's car. If I remember correctly, there were two plugs on the driver's side in backside pannel. The top plug fakes you out, will not fit. Dig deeper into the wires to find the other plug.

It was my mistake. There were 2 plugs on my passenger side, one I couldn't see. thank you

@Michael, I purchased the Curt C56165 and installed it on an '08 Rav4 (same gen as your '09) and it worked perfectly. I'd highly recommend a hoist/lift to route the wiring underneath, but it's not necessary just much easier.
