Gen-Y Dominator Gooseneck Hitch for 2027 Chevy Silverado 2500

Published 09/04/2026

Question:

Hi guys, I just bought a 2027 Chevy Silverado 2500 with the factory puck system and I'll be using it to pull my gooseneck car hauler. I've always used the standard factory gooseneck ball but I'm interested in something that will help smooth out the ride when the trailer is loaded. Is the Gen-Y Dominator worth upgrading to for this setup?

Hey Ryan, congratulations on the new truck! Yes, the Gen-Y Dominator Gooseneck Hitch # GY39TQ is worth the upgrade for your 2027 Silverado 2500. The Torsion-Flex design helps absorb shock between the truck and trailer, which will give you a smoother towing experience than a standard rigid gooseneck ball no matter what gooseneck trailer you're towing.

The # GY39TQ drops directly into your Chevy factory puck system and is rated for 25,000 lbs with a 3,500-6,500 lb tongue weight range. It also has integrated safety chain anchors, so you won't need a separate set in the factory pucks.

What kind of cars are you hauling?

Thanks! Mostly classic muscle cars, I have a '69 Camaro that gets hauled to shows pretty regularly. The roads around here aren't the greatest so anything that takes some of the beating out of the truck and trailer is great.

@RyanM very nice, a '69 Camaro is definitely worth taking good care of! The Dominator should be a great upgrade for that setup, especially if you're regularly dealing with rough roads. Hope you enjoy the new truck and have a good time at the shows!
