Can I Use SumoSprings Rebels On My Lifted 2016 Ram 3500?

Question:

How would the SumoSpring Rebel work with a 2016 Ram 3500 6.7L SO Cummins short bed SRW 4x4 with a leveling kit or a mild lift, yielding 1 to 2.5 inches of lift in the rear? Is it possible to just mount the SumoSpring Rebel components “as is”, without any alteration for this application?

Thanks for writing in.

Yes, the SumoSprings Rebel # SSR-301-40-2 will fit your 2016 Ram 3500 4x4, but with the rear of your truck sitting 1 to 2-1/2 inches higher than stock, I would not just install them as-is.

These are designed around the factory ride height of the truck. Since the Rebels use two separate pieces that come together as the truck is loaded, adding lift to the rear increases the space between them. We will want to account for that extra height so the SumoSprings can engage and work the way they are supposed to.

What I need to know is how you got the extra height in the rear. If you can send me the brand and model of the leveling or lift kit you installed, along with how much it actually raised the rear, I can help you figure out what you will need.
