Complete Hub Assembly For Dexter 9,000 lb Dual Rear Wheel Axle

Updated 09/08/2026 | Published 09/03/2026

Question:

Im working on a Dexter 8 lug 9k dual rear wheel trailer. The axle tag I found said 9-44/8-288. Im needing the hub assembly with bearings and all. And also the electric brake assembly. Could you point me in the right direction as to what I need? I would like a complete kit. Preferably an etrailer brand set up. Ive used yalls stuff before and it worked out good and saved me some money.

Hey Shane, thanks for reaching out. I see you already have the brake assemblies on order, but I wanted to make sure you have the correct hubs to go along with them. Based on your Dexter 9K axle and the 9-44/8-288 information from the axle tag, you’ll need:

Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 9K to 10K - 8 on 6-1/2" - Oil Bath - Non-ABS # 8-430-5UC3

This is a complete hub and drum assembly and includes the inner and outer bearings, races, oil seal, oil cap, and lug nuts. Since you mentioned wanting a complete setup rather than used parts, this is definitely the route to go.

What kind of trailer are you working on, an equipment trailer, car hauler, or something else?
