B&W Companion Slider Base for 2023 and 2024 Ford F-350 Factory Prep Package

Question:
I have a BandW companion slider hitch in my 2018 ram 2500 with factory puck system. I am looking to purchase a F-350, 2023 or 2024, and was wondering if I am able to just swap out the BandW base to fit Ford’s 5th wheel prep system.

Yes, Wesley, you can swap out the base on your B&W Companion slider to use the hitch in a 2023 or 2024 Ford F-350 with the factory 5th wheel prep package. You will need the Replacement Slider Base for B&W part # BWRVB3370. You can simply remove the head from your current base and install it onto the new Ford base, which is one of the nice things about the B&W Companion system.
B&W makes the swap pretty straightforward because the coupler head connects to the pivot arms on the base with just two pins and clips. Once those pins are removed, you can lift the head straight off the base without needing tools. Removing the head first also makes moving everything around much easier since you are not trying to handle the entire hitch as one heavy assembly.
What made you decide to make the switch to the F-350?

I made the switch from a 2021 Ram 2500 to a 2024 F350. I bought the new base to fit the puck system in the Ford, and use the original head. It was seamless, and works like a charm. Very happy with the B&W slider, The additional length of the Ford short bed (6’10”). Is also helpful. Also very happy I made the switch to the Ford. Great truck!

Yes - we swapped ours when our new 5th wheel didn’t have a turning point kingpin. We have a 6’9” truck bed And after losing the rear window we swapped the base. So far so good but it is very heavy compared to the regular companion.
