Updated 08/06/2024 | Published 08/02/2024

Question:

I have a 2022 gmc 3500 DRW and Kurt 25k fifth wheel hitch. Towing a 2020 GD Momentum 351m RV . I need to get more clearance space inbetween bed rail and RV . My question is I have hitch set on top adjustment and need more height. Is there any suggestions? With some kind of add on to get more hitch height ? Thank s Doug .G

Hi Doug; to gain additional height you will either need to adjust the height setting of your pin box or raise your trailer. There isn't an add-on for the 5th wheel hitch to raise it up any further. If your pin box can't be lowered anymore then you can use the Correct Track Trailer Alignment and Lift Kit # RR23QX. This will raise your trailer height by 1-1/4" or 2-1/4".

Alternatively, you could switch to a taller 5th wheel hitch like the B&W Companion # BWRVK3715 and sell your old Q25. The Companion has a hitch height of 16-3/4" - 18-3/4" so you will gain another 1-3/4" over what you have now.

Thanks Robin , If I were to sell the Kurt Q25 fifth wheel hitch I would most likely go Gooseneck , heard great things about the Gooseneck and height should not be problem . Your thoughts ??

@DougG just make sure if you're going the route of an adapter you get one with adequate height since that is already a concern for your setup. If you take a look at the article below it explains how to measure your truck and trailer to determine what height you will need.
