Hey Larry!

Yes, the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller will work with the factory 7-way on your 2026 Jeep Gladiator, and you do not need the brake-output pin to already be powered.

The Echo is powered through the 12-volt circuit in the Gladiator’s 7-way connector. It then creates the variable brake-output signal itself and sends that power through the brake-output pin to the trailer brakes when braking is needed.

The Echo is essentially plug-and-play, so you should not need to run a separate brake-controller wire or activate the brake-output circuit beforehand.

I would recommend verifying that the 12-volt pin on your 7-way is powered before installation, since that is the circuit the Echo relies on to operate.

What are you planning to tow with your Gladiator?

2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. The system worked as plug and play. If I recall you have to follow the instructions for bluetooth to your phone. There is a right way and a wrong way. I lost my instructions, but Echo talked me through the bluetooth connection. This same device works on several of my vehicles. Very, Very happy with it.

@BarryW Thanks for your feedback! I've linked the instructions below for future reference. How are you liking the app controls?
