Question:
Hello etrailer Team, I have a 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 equipped with the factory tow harness, and I’m looking to add a trailer brake controller. I’m particularly interested in the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite RED63RR because I like the behind-the-dash installation and off-road mode. However, I’m open to other controllers that may be a good fit for my Sprinter and intended use, especially if they offer a simpler plug-and-play installation. Could you please provide links to: - The correct wiring harness/adapter to connect a brake controller to my factory tow wiring - The controller you recommend for my needs - A suitable DIN or dash mounting solution for the controller knob, if available - Any other parts I would need for installation I watched your video showing a similar Redarc installation on a Sprinter and would appreciate any additional installation tips or helpful videos. Best

Thanks for all the information Daniel! The Redarc Tow-Pro Elite is one of the best brake controllers on the market. I would not recommend a different controller. It has a super low profile installation method that hides the main unit. The ease of adjusting the settings from the convenient dash knob and the offroad features put it in a class of it's own.
For your 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500, you will need the following parts:
Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Brake Controller item # RED44FR
Redarc Tow-Pro Wiring Adapter for Curt Brake Controller Harness item # 331-TPH-019
Curt Custom Wiring Adapter for Trailer Brake Controllers item # C34GJ
The Redarc Tow-Pro Elite item # RED44FR will connect directly the factory port beneath your Sprinter's driver's seat with the Curt Custom Wiring Adapter item # C34GJ and the Tow-Pro Wiring Adapter for Curt Harness item # 331-TPH-019. Redarc doesn't make custom fit adapters for Mercedes but these two combined will give you a simple plug in installation that does not require splicing wires.
The Redarc Tow-Pro Elite item # RED44FR comes with a universal mounting panel. If you have an empty knockout on your dash, I recommend drilling into it to install the knob. I attached a picture below of what that looks like on a 2020 Sprinter. Redarc does not make any mounting panels designed for your Sprinter.
The Redarc Tow-Pro Elite RED63RR you referenced isn't the correct one you need for your 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 with the tow package. The adapter included with it is the wrong one to connect to the factory brake controller port.
What kind of trailer are you pulling and what kind of off-roading do you do? Feel free to answer this and throw in any other questions you have, where it says Add Comment.
