Good morning Todd, I would not recommend using the Patriot Hitches part # PH48PR adjustable hitch adapter with a weight distribution hitch. That adapter is not designed to handle the additional leverage created by the spring bars, so using it as an intermediate connection could put forces on the adapter that it was not designed to handle. For a weight distribution setup, you will want a shank that is specifically rated and designed for use with weight distribution.

If you are mainly looking for additional drop or rise so you can get your trailer level, the better solution is to replace the shank on your weight distribution hitch with one that provides the amount of adjustment you need. The right shank will depend on your current weight distribution hitch, your tow vehicle's receiver size, and how much drop or rise you need.
