Will Oris Hitch Give Better Ground Clearance With 2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid

Question:

I have a 2020 Rav4 Hybrid with the Curt hitch installed. It works fine but, it bottoms out off-road going up steeper pitches. The last off-road trip I remove the fixed ball mount mid-trip. That helped. Is there a hitch for a 2020 Rav4 Hybrid that does not decrease ground clearance? Would the Oris Code: TS66VR be a better choice? How difficult is it to remove the hitch receiver on the Oris? If I the trailer and remove the hitch receiver, will I remove the problem of the hitch dragging? I have no issue with the Curt and am not looking to return it. The Rav4 has a lot of ground clearance, not so much with the Curt. Cheers, Ward

Hey Ward! The only hitch that will give you better ground clearance is the Oris Trailer Hitch # TS66VR. With the receiver removed you would be hitting your rear bumper before any part of the hitch bottomed out.

Removal is really easy, check out the installation video I linked further down on this page. You'll see them insert the receiver right at the start which will give you a general idea of the process. The only difference with removing it is you will turn the knob to release it after unlocking.
