Vehicle: ram wayfarer van 136” wb Looking at air conditioning. Currently considering Advent low profile 13,500 Btu complete kit with start capacitor and thermostat. Would like to mount forward. I live in New Mexico, the kids are in Texas is this a viable choice. Will consider other options. Please advise. Thanks

Hi Bill!
A 13.5K BTU Advent low profile AC will be a great option for your Ram Wayfarer with the 136" wheel base. The interior square footage is relatively low in those and the 13.5K BTU unit will definitely keep it nice and cool. With that said, you will be looking at the following two options:
Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner System - 13.5K Btu - Non-Ducted - ADB Controls - R32 # ADV25SR
Advent Air Low Profile RV AC System w/ Thermostat - 13,500 Btu - Ducted/Non-Ducted - Black - R32 # ADV52SR
I'm guessing you were probably more interested in the one with the ADB (Air Distribution Box) controls, but I figured I would mention the one with the wall mounted thermostat as well. Either option will work, but you do want to make sure the surface you are wanting to mount this to is as flat as possible and the roof measures 2-1/2" to 5" thick. Just s a side note, both of these will fit the standard 14-1/4" long x 14-1/4" wide opening as well.
Since you’re in New Mexico and plan to use the van in Texas as well, are you mainly looking for the best cooling performance in the heat, or is keeping the installation as low-profile as possible your bigger priority?
