Question:

22 ram 2500 4x4 Cummins with Rambox. No fifth wheel prep. Need complete fifth wheel and mount. 20k. Part numbers. Do I need a sidewinder hitch for the rv? Or just your mount and hitch and dont jacknife it? Thank you

Hi Scott!

Since your 2022 Ram 2500 has the RamBoxes, you will want a sidewinder style pin box. It's not just jackknifing that can cause the pin box to make contact with the side of the bed, so it is very highly recommended. Unfortunately, we don't have any on offer at the moment due to Reese being essentially impossible to get (they were our supplier for these), so if you do not already have one, you will need to look else ware for that part. However, we do have options for the 5th wheel hitch and I have two options listed below (both fit short bed and long bed trucks):

Though heavier and more expensive, I do prefer the B&W set up. It is actually a gooseneck and 5th wheel hitch combo, so when you remove the hitch, you have a completely clear bed. With the Curt option, you will always have rails present in the bed, but it is less expensive and a lot lighter.

You will need to weigh the pros and cons for each set up, but I do think the B&W is the best option.
